Jaswinder Singh Bhalla’s journey was very different from other actors, yet he still became one of the most famous comedy icons in Punjabi cinema.

He completed his B.Sc., M.Sc., and even Ph.D. before starting his career in teaching. In 1989, he joined Punjab Agricultural University as an Assistant Professor and later went on to become the Head of Department.

But what many people don’t know is that he remained a professor till 2020, while simultaneously following his passion for comedy and acting.

Back when he became an Assistant Professor, he also began performing in comedy shows. In 1988, his first comedy cassette “Channkata 88” was released, which made him popular in households.

Gradually, he entered Punjabi films and delivered several superhits like “Jihne Mera Dil Luteya,” “Carry on Jatta” series, “Jatt & Juliet,” and “Sardaar Ji.”

He managed all this while continuing his teaching career, becoming one of the most loved actors in the Punjabi film industry.

Along with his agricultural expertise, he also shared valuable knowledge with farmers.

Unfortunately, he had been unwell in recent weeks, and on 22nd August, he breathed his last.
