Through the Catacombs

Battleship USS IOWA Museum is taking you far off the tour path. COO Mike Getscher and event coordinator Marann Fengler did some "battleship spelunking" in the catacombs - a hundred-foot passageway deep in the ship below Turrets 1 and 2. This rarely-seen and fascinating area provides tricky access to electrical vaults, ordnance stores, and Pump Room 3.
