Mart was living his dream life surfing in the Philippines when a strange black dot appeared on his arm. Months earlier, a wound on his lip had taken unusually long to heal. At the time, he didn’t think much of it. The lesion on his arm kept growing, eventually ulcerating and bleeding. A biopsy later confirmed it was melanoma, and more lesions would follow.
