It is intimated that proposal for grant of one-time payment of Rs 15 lakh under "Yudh Samman Yojana" is under consideration with Dept of Ex Serviceman Welfare (DESW).
DESW has sought addi data in r/o all personnel (or their spouses) (SSCOs/ECOs, Regular Commissioned Officers) who actively participated in 1965 and /or 1971 wars and awarded Samar Seva Star and/or Poorvi Star/Paschimi Star Medals.
The data is required to be
forwarded in the prescribed format annexed with this letter.
It is requested to forward data in r/o all personnel who fulfills the criteria mentioned at
para 2 above, for onward submission to MoD/DESW.

Reference this Ministry's ID Note of even number dated/03.08.2022 on the above mentioned Subject vide which it was requested to provide data of ECOs/SSCOs, Regular Commissioned Officers/PBORs/Civilians personnel who actively participated in 1965 and/or 1971 wars and awarded with Samar Seva Star and/or Poorvi Star/Paschimi Star Medals. Further, this Ministry vide MoD ID of even number dated 18.08.2022 forwarded some representations received from Regular Commissioned Officers/PBORs/Associations for providing comments. In responsc, Army liqrs, vide their letter No. B/41002/Yudh Samman Yojana/Option/AG/PS-5/2021 dated 26.09.2022 stated that the data of PBORs/Regular Commissioned Officers/Civilians personnel (or their Spouse). who actively participated in 1965 and/or 1971 wars is not available as the entire Army was mobilized during the 1965 and 1971 wars.
2. In this regard it is intimated that this Department is in receipt of many_ representations from PBORs and Regular Commissioned Officer demanding the benefits of "Yuch Samman Yojana". Hence, such PBORs and Repular Commissioncd Officer do exist.
3. This Department is of the view that once proposal for grant of one time payment of Rs. 15 lakh under "Yudh Samman Yojana" to ECOs/SSCOs who actively participated in 1965 and/or 1971 wars and awarded with Samar Seva Star and /or Poorvi Star/Paschimi Star medals is approved, other participants of these wars and awardees of these medals (UBORs/Regular Commissioned Officers both pensioners and. non-pensioners as well) will demand the similar benefits. This

4. Further, JAG branch has also advised to include even the personnel in !l
receipt of pension from Govt, organization in the proposal.
5. In view of the above, Army Hqes. is requested to provide the detailed data
