How To Apply Skip Trowel Texture to Ceiling

In this video, I show how I created a skip trowel texture to a ceiling. I use a topping mix joint compound for the texture and apply it with a 14 inch drywall knife. The original ceiling texture was a NON ASBESTOS acoustic spray which was removed.
**WARNING**PERSONS SHOULD NEVER remove an old acoustic coating before verifying that it does NOT contain asbestos. Seek professional advice if you suspect asbestos is present.
With a smooth ceiling, the texture can be directly applied.
