Interview with Bob Malone at the Inaugural Yamaha Trumpet Symposium | Brass | Yamaha Music

On the 14th and 15th September 2016 over 30 of Europe’s top brass technicians were invited to take part in the first Yamaha Trumpet Symposium.

The 2 day course covered a variety of subjects including technical information and modification tips relating to Yamaha’s Professional Trumpet line-up. Alongside Yamaha Atelier Hamburg’s Technicians Thomas Lubitz and Eddie Veit, we were also pleased to welcome from Yamaha’s US Ateliers, Bob Malone.

Bob Malone is known by trumpet players around the world for his work with leadpipe variations. Leading the way in lead-pipe design, he gave workshops on this and trumpet adjustment at the symposium. In addition to his technical expertise, we also had two professional Yamaha Trumpet Artists to demonstrate the results of the modifications and also give feedback about the different models.
