The Flowering of the Strange Orchid by H G Wells (1905)

This is a curious story by H G Wells published in 1905, that reminds me a little of The Diary of a Nobody in its suburban tone and subject matter. 'A man with a hobby gets a surprise' is perhaps as much as I should declare here.

I love H G Wells and would recommend his great and much neglected novel Tono-Bungay. I’ve recorded an audiobook version of it.

I'm throwing this out as a little stocking filler before embarking on 3 remaining Case-Book adventures. I was supposed to be recording this tale for an audiobook but recorded it using the wrong set-up, DOH!, so will have to do it again! Didn't want to see this recording go to waste.

It's quite fun. Not a lot of fun, but quite fun!

It is read as usual, by me, Greg Wagland, in the pub singer style. I perhaps took rather too literally the fact that the main players are related: I can hear a slight differentiation between the two but that may exist only in my head.
