Speaker Bios:

Emily B. Miller (she/her) is a licensed funeral director, embalmer and founder of Colorado’s first environmental Burial Preserve. Emily was working as a funeral home manager when she perceived a need in the market for a different type of cemetery with a native habitat mission. Opening a cemetery also opened a dialogue between the community and funeral service providers about what these services should look like, and Emily now advocates for a greener industry through education and outreach.

Dawn Harth (she/her) is a freelance marketing and branding consultant based in Oklahoma, with a special passion for helping brands and causes find their voice and tell their story. Working with organizations whose missions are focused on contributing to a larger purpose has been the greatest source of fulfillment for Dawn throughout her career, and since she first learned about green burial, she knew she wanted to be a part of helping more people learn about and understand it. Her interest in green burial led her to the Green Burial Council where she joined the board to learn more as well as help contribute to building greater public awareness and education on the topic.
