IT services industry in India employs a lot of talented and creative employees. But the treatment given to these employees is not great to say the least. When leaders of IT services companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys reach out to their foreign clients, they tell them, “We have a lot of people in India and they are cheap resources.” And when the word cheap enters the chat, the overall work atmosphere takes a massive hit. The clients don’t value the time and effort put by these employees.

The clients do not have the right attitude and it just stems into unprofessional behaviour. And this is the crux of the problem. You have to work for longer hours as an employee without a satisfied client. This needs to change and it can only change if we talk about this dark side of IT jobs or this dark side of IT industry that is mostly ignored when we talk about the growth aspirations of our country.

As an employee, you should try to avoid this dark side of IT sector at all costs. Just move to a product role if you can. IT industry problems cannot be solve by just one employee. As an employee you should not take anything to the heart. Treat your job just like another job and do voice your opinion against this IT employee exploitation which is so rampant in IT jobs.
