Hey everyone! Genshin recently made a decision that has left many players frustrated, especially free-to-play players. The current 5.3 patch, introduces two new characters, Mavuika and Citlali, both available in the first phase. Players were expecting additional pulls during this phase as part of the Lantern Rite event. However, a recent announcement confirmed that Lantern Rite will occur in the second phase of the patch, meaning these extra pulls will only be available after the event banner featuring the new characters ends.

This decision has upset many, as it significantly limits the resources players can use to obtain Mavuika or Citlali during the first phase. This appears to be an intentional move to push players toward spending money on the game, particularly since both characters are highly desirable. The reduced availability of pulls makes it challenging for players to acquire either character, let alone both. Starting with rewards, all players will receive 600 Primos as server maintenance compensation when version 5.4 launches. The update lasts for 42 days, allowing players to earn 2,520 Primos by completing daily commissions if done everyday. Unfortunately, there will be no rewards from achievements or the offering system, which is dissapointing.

Though there are no new map expansions, there will be story and event quests. Completing Mizuki's story quest will grant approximately 160 primos. The flagship event in this patch will take place in Inazuma, granting 1,000 Primos and other materials. This event also includes a free 4-star polearm with a passive ability that boosts attack and movement speed for 10 seconds after using an elemental skill. Three additional events—a fishing event, a tower battle event, and a filming event—will collectively provide 2,420 primos.

In total, free-to-play players can expect approximately 9,350 Primos, equating to 58 pulls. This is insufficient to reach soft pity, let alone secure a guaranteed 5-star character. With Mizuki being the only new character in version 5.4 and later joining the standard banner, players may consider skipping her banner to save for reruns, particularly since many will be low on resources after pulling in 5.3.
