As women, we encounter some form of sexual violence or harassment every single day. There is nothing invisible about this, it is very tangible and very real. 😔

People like me, who raise our voices against this publicly, live with this fear because I also know the sad reality that if god forbid something was to happen tomorrow all I would hear is “look at the subject she speaks about, what did you expect” 🤬

And yes I can see the tide turning, I can see men who are now standing shoulder to shoulder with us to fight this plague, but there is still too large a group of people who are here to just derail the conversation with their “whataboutery” and counter attacks and self validation.

Between the men who want to justify these actions and the women who encourage them to do so, we still have a very difficult battle ahead of us!!
The fear of standing up against the perpetrators is so deeply ingrained - the shame, the blame, the lack of support. ⛓️

We need to be there for each other, no matter the gender, we need to support one another as human beings 🌎
