Hi everyone
Here seen is VWD27 on the 360 to Waterford City.
Suprisingly, on the way to Waterford, Nothing much has changed about this route on the way to Waterford.
No the section where it goes through Ballybricken was not part of the route as the buses sometimes go through there I havent found out fully why but im guessing it might be a traffic diversion or something as deckers still to this day go through Ballybricken sometimes.
I dont remember fully if this is VWD21 or VWD27 but i am mainly sure this is VWD27, I dont remember as this was filmed at some point in August of 2023, A bit ago.
Some info about the bus situation in Waterford during this time, VWD21, VWD22, VWD26, VWD27 were all Waterford Based buses which still operated the 360 and the old 360a, Difference about the 360 is that it would lap all of Tramore first then go to Tramore bus terminus and terminate there, ideally not giving the driver much of a break in my opinion as Tramore Bus Terminus is the busiest bus stop in Tramore, Also frequency was about every 45 minutes as these 4 buses operated. Over the summers Waterford received many double deckers on-loan for the passanger amount, In the year of 2023 Waterford depot received 4 buses, VWD11, VWD44 (IDPWD 22), VWD51, VWD54. The ones that had gone the fastest were VWD51 which had gone first then VWD11.
Then im pretty sure VWD54 and VWD44 ran a bit into the service expansion of the new 360 then were off back to Cork, where VWD44 wore IDPWD 23 and is now with no wrap, after many wraps it is now with none and looks similar the VWD42 and VWD43 (explanation later in the text).
The first sighting of a Cork decker was VWD33 if im correct which was already in NTA livery.
Waterford had received VWD33, VWD34, VWD35, VWD36, VWD38, VWD39, VWD40, VWD41, VWD42 and had exchanged its VWD22, VWD26, VWD27 back to Cork.
VWD33, VWD34, VWD35, VWD41 were wearing NTA for the services here, while the others are still in BÉ uniform.
The only one that had stayed from the exchanging is VWD21, However I enjoy VWD21 its a favourite of mine so I am not complaining.
VWD42 as mentioned earlier looks similar to non wrapped VWD43 and VWD44, How come? They all have no side (TFI stickers nor BÉ stickers just the waves) logos making them look fairly unique in their way.
About the old 360, The old 360 ran from Waterford directly to Tramore similarly to how it is now, but it lapped it differently, The old 360 instead of going directly to Tramore Bus Terminus then lapping the upper of Tramore, Went to Riverstown then to the Ard na Groi bus stop then lapped to Crobally Heights then went many different roads but was a nice route. The drivers however actually get a break now so thats nice.
Anyway thank you for reading if you did, Sorry for the amount but yeah heh much to say about the old 360 days.
Enjoy!
