In this tutorial, I will be demonstrating sound design, production, and arrangement in the halftime style, akin to VCTRE, Keota, Slug Wife, Copycatt, and more.

Much of the signature sound of this style comes from it's groovy hip hop-esque drums and heavily distorted basses.

Ableton's plethora of distortion options are great for this style, and the DAW's filtering options makes it easy to add additional movement.

For much bass music, especially half time, I find it useful to write out your main riff before going crazy with the sound design. Keeping your main idea clear and simple and really experimenting with your fills.

I wish you luck in your creative journey.
