Having made quite the impression on the NuJazz scene since she landed on Ramrock Blue Records last year, Ramsgate’s young soulful talent Maxine Scott reveals her fantastic new summer single, ‘New To This’. Flipping the script from her gutsy ‘Erykah U Bad’ single, ‘New To This’ sees Maxine display an emotional fragility about embarking on the start of a new relationship, as she delivers a candy-sweet vocal dipped in shyness and uncertainty that glides over her beautifully delicate urban groove,

Maxine’s debut release on Ramrock Blue, 'Erykah U Bad' last year, scored a 10/10 review in Blues and Soul, along with support from Mixmag and DMC, among others. Since her debut Ramrock Blue release, Maxine has gone from strength to strength. Her amazing collaborations with UK Beat Wizard alf.E, took the Future Soul scene by storm with their combined talents creating ‘Ya Energy’, ‘SXC’ and ‘Guard Down’, culminating in a showcase gig in March 2023 at London’s iconic Jazz Café. 2023 is already musically busy for Maxine – a No’West remix on ‘New To This’, a project with the legendary Black Science Orchestra, a House EP with Australian producer, Andrew Sant, and further solo releases.
