Welcome back to our channel! In today's video, we're bringing you the latest updates on the LNG Canada project in Kitimat, British Columbia.

📍 Project Overview:
LNG Canada is Canada's first large-scale liquefied natural gas export terminal, led by Shell along with partners Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Kogas. This groundbreaking project represents a CAD 40 billion investment and aims to produce 14 million tonnes of LNG per year.

🏗️ Construction Milestones:

The project is over 90% complete, with significant progress made on the two liquefaction trains.
The final weld on the first production train was recently completed, marking a pivotal moment in the construction.
Commissioning activities are set to begin later this year, with commercial operations expected by mid-2025.
🌐 Community and Economic Impact:

Over CAD 4.7 billion in contracts have been awarded to local and Indigenous businesses.
Nearly 9,000 Canadians were employed at the Kitimat site as of early 2024.
The project promises substantial economic benefits, including increased natural gas royalties and long-term revenue for British Columbia.
