Hi, everyone, Jesse here with etrailer. Today, we'll be taking a look at the Benton LittleShift 1-Bike Bike Rack and how it works with our 2025 Toyota Crown. If you're looking for a 1-bike bike rack to go out on those solo adventures or maybe just to meet up with some of your buddies, this is a great option for you. This rack will fit bikes up to 80 pounds, and really fits just about any bike of any size, so I'll show you how to get your bike off of it. We go down to our wheel strap here. You have a skinny tire and wheel setup, and the strap is quite long, but it does have a little slot that you can slide your strap into so it's not dragging on the ground.
I think that's a really nice feature that they added on, but you're simply pushing the button on the front and back wheels. Get that out of your way, then move over to the front wheel. Same setup with this one. Just pull it out of that slot and unbind it, and then we have this very sturdy wheel clamp here that's pretty easy to get undone. You just push in on the button, it'll slide up, and you can rotate it out of your way so you can take your bike off.
While the bike's off, we'll talk about some of the cool features that this rack has. My favorite feature is this grip-taped step here. If you we inchesre to have a roof rack or you just needed access to your roof, it gives you a nice step up so you can access whatever you need, take it off and get ready to go. Also, while the bike is off, you can see how little of a footprint this rack has. So, honestly, if I owned this bike rack, I would probably just keep it on at all times, that way, you're always ready for the next adventure.
And the way that this rack is versatile enough to fit almost any bike is a very simple just ability to pivot this wheel tray here. So, we've tried multiple different bikes and they all seem to fit. It just takes a little bit of adjusting, and once you adjust it once, it's pretty much gonna stay there as long as you want. Another nice feature is the anti-rattle D pin that is holding it into our hitch. As you can see, I'm shaking this quite a lot and it's not moving very much at all, and that's because we have a pin and then you tighten down an 18-millimeter nut around that, and it also has a cotter pin, but that D shape allows it to not move around a lot.
The bike rack is designed to give you more ground clearance than your hitch with the Crown. Your hitch does sit on the low side, but we have plenty of ground clearance here. We shouldn't have to worry about scraping at all going down a steep driveway or anything like that. Also, while the bike's off, you do have full access to your hatch. It opens up just fine. (hatch motor whirring) You can grab whatever you want out here and close it. (indicator beeps) And then the step also doubles as a seat. So, say you wanna put your shoes on and get ready for that ride. It's pretty convenient to have a nice seat right there. All in all, if you're looking for a 1-bike bike rack, I think this is a really great option for you. Honestly, this is one of my favorites out there on the market today.
