The coronavirus pandemic is continuing to surge across the country and the CARES Act, which provided substantial economic relief for many individuals and businesses, is coming to an end. What's next??? Will we get another check? Will unemployment benefits be extended? Financial planner, tax expert, and author Marcus Warren provides the latest update.

The $600 enhanced weekly unemployment likely won't get extended past this week, at least not in its current form. The White House has said they would be in favor of extending reduced benefits, up to 100% of an unemployed workers salary. Senate Maj. Leader Mitch McConnell has also been working on a stimulus package that includes liability protection for businesses and reduced unemployment benefits.

The odds of the American people receiving another stimulus check are pretty high - considering that politicians across party lines, and the White House, are in favor. Economists believe recurring payments to the American people is crucial to a stable economic recovery.

Regardless of what the politicians do, it's up to you to take control of your own personal economy.
