Post viral arthralgia closely mimics the common rheumatoid arthritis. Chickungunya virus affects humans and the acute phase presents with fever and myalgias. This phase lasts for around 2 weeks. Following receovery around 50% of the patients suffer from polyarthritis which closely mimics rheumatoid arthritis.
