At Chester Zoo, the entire chimp group comes outside for feeding. Keepers on the roof throw apples onto the island. Young chimp Stevie repeatedly attempts to take apples from others despite having enough, prompting keeper intervention. Stevie then adapts by using a stick to retrieve apples from the moat. Adult males vocalise briefly as part of social interaction. Stevie’s mother, Zee Zee, joins in the apple gathering, showing learned behaviour passed from mother to offspring.
