Speed Shoot 70lb Bow with Slavic draw

Описание к видео Speed Shoot 70lb Bow with Slavic draw

When it comes to speed shooting heavy bows in archery, I wanted to figure out my maximum practical draw weight using lars anderson's general technique of shooting on the opposite side holding arrows in the draw hand (he has various techniques but arrows are usually held in draw hand). Shadiversity found that the “impossible” side is reasonably accurate in terms of arrow flight. But I want to find out the limits of holding arrows at the nocks as depicted by Lars Anderson.

In this video, I will be testing the previous 1300 grain half inch warbow arrows with 2 fletch, and then attempt to speed shoot with conventional carbon arrows. I am not the fastest speed shooter but I want to provide a deeper analysis to find out the pros and cons of this technique, compared to more conventional techniques.

This is part 2 of my analysis of speed shooting heavy bows with Slavic Draw technique (also called Sassanid/Persian/Saracen).

It seems that the weight of the arrows necessary to shoot heavy bows is a significant factor that limits your rate of fire. The heavier the bow, the heavier and stiffer the arrow needs to be. If you want to be historical, you also need organic materials, and exotic wood that is thin but stiff enough is not always accessible. For me, I can only hold 3 organic warbow arrows in my draw hand and even that is too tiring. The draw weight itself is another factor as well, I get tired shooting heavy bows rapidly, which was made more apparent in the first part of the video.

Also I use my own target whenever I use those thick 1/2" arrows. the people at the range get mad when I use those arrows as they damage the public target faster
