Our country India has many varieties of ornamental fish that are suitable for aquariums. We had earlier published part 1 on this topic.

This video continues to focus on the Indian Native fishes that are suitable for planted aquariums. The species shown here has been kept in a 3ft Nature Aquarium in Ripples Nature Aquarium Gallery at Kolkata, India

Video gives useful details about the fishes which the hobbyists can use before deciding to introduce or buying any new ones for their aquariums.

The video covers algae eaters, shoaling fishes, and even specimen fishes.

The species list is as follows:
1) Pethia canius
2) Pethia phutunio
3) Hifin Barb (Oreichthys cosuatis)
4) Psilorhynchus sucatio (Bantam Torrent Fish)
5) Drape Fin Barb (Oreichthys crenuchoides)
6) Melon Barb (Haludaria fasciata)
7) Narayan Barb (Pethia setnai)
8) Red Tail Squirrel Loach (Aborichthys elongatus)
9) Stone Catfishes (Pseudolaguvia ferruginea/ Pseudolaguvia shawi)

As most of these are collected wild-caught, it is important that deworming is done before these fish are released in the aquarium. Also, pre-release quarantine treatment is a must.
