Powerday, a major player in the region led by Chairman Mick Crossan, has expanded from construction waste to handling massive volumes of commercial and industrial waste at its Willesden facility, using advanced Turmec recycling technology.

Powerday's Willesden facility now processes a wide range of materials—rigid plastics, metals, and more—recovering recyclables and creating high-quality RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) for both domestic and export markets. With Turmec's cutting-edge MRF systems, the facility produces RDF to exacting specifications, supplying energy-from-waste plants like the upcoming Hoddesdon facility. In addition, Powerday is developing a new 330,000-tonne-capacity facility in Enfield, further extending its impact across London.

Looking ahead, Powerday is even exploring the concept of an on-site ‘mini-energy centre’ at Willesden, which could provide clean energy to the grid. With Turmec’s 50+ years of expertise in recycling engineering, this partnership is setting a new standard in efficient, sustainable waste management.
