Before Sackboy became the lovable wooly mascot we know today, he went through a few design changes leading up to the release of LittleBigPlanet in 2008.

At the very beginning , Sackboy was originally known as a character named Mr YellowHead.

Yellowhead originated from a 2005 physics based prototype called Craftworld and as craftworld slowly turned into LittleBigPlanet, Yellow Head would end up being completely replaced by a sack-like creature known as Craftling in the early stages of LBP’s development

Craftling’s design resembled Sackboy’s design much more than Yellowhead did, but as you can see, things still look a bit different.

Compared to Sackboy, Craftling was more plump, a little creepier and even had this weird bobbly head thing going on which didn’t carry over into the final game.

From 2006-2008, Crafting’s design would be heavily altered and refined into the final version of sackboy we have today.
