White marlin or roundscale spearfish? Blue marlin or black marlin? Longbill spearfish or Mediterranean spearfish? This guide has the answers and MORE! Identifying each of the marlins and spearfishes as well as the sailfish and swordfish.

I've created this simple guide to distinguish all of the billfishes (spearfishes, marlins, swordfish and sailfish) from one another without the need for looking at color, patterns, or markings. (Keep in mind this guide is best used for mature specimens, as during development, certain morphological features (bills, dorsal fins, etc.) change quite drastically.)
