Here I show you my new W-R 1F85-277 after installation. :NOTE: this is not a how to video. CDL is indeed the backlight on-off setting. I believe when you connect a common wire CDL turns off the continuous backlight, and when your running just batteries CDL will disable the backlight completely if you select off.
