Apache Actor Ruben Chato Hinojosa spent several weeks with Larry Benagas (Barona/ Kumeyaay Tribal Member) learning the Kumeyaay language for his role. The Film was by Director Vernon Mortensen and the film also stars Michael Madsen, John Savage, and Kirk Harris. The Native American actors portrayed the roles of Kumeyaay Warriors in the film. Additionally our military brotherhood stays together Ruben and Vernon are both Navy Veterans from the Coastal Patrol Boats/ Special Boat /SWCC Commando community who primarily operated in the Naval Special Warfare community with the Elite SEALs, Divers, Coastal Patrol, and Waterborne Law Enforcement operations.
