Join me on a scenic circular walk through the stunning North Wales countryside, as we explore the charming village of Cyfylliog and its surrounding natural beauty. Starting in the peaceful village, just 4 miles west of Rhuthin, we pass by the ancient bridge over the Afon Clywedog and head into the hills for a walk filled with history, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes.
Our journey takes us through the historical village, where we visit a Grade II listed Hearse-House—a rare and fascinating remnant of the past—and St. Mary's Church, which dates back to the 15th century. Along the way, we’ll encounter some friendly locals (both human and animal), as well as lush green forests, peaceful streams, and impressive views of the nearby Clwydian Range.
The walk also includes sightings of vibrant spring flowers, including Gorse and Snowdrops, and a thrilling moment when a red kite (Barcud) soars high above us! As we descend the hills and return to the village, I reflect on the beauty of the Welsh countryside and the serenity it offers.
