24 Hours After Total Knee Replacement | First Outpatient PT Session with Anthony Maritato, PT

In this video, I take you inside the very first outpatient physical therapy session just 24 hours after total knee replacement surgery.

You’ll see me, Anthony Maritato, PT, working hands-on with a real patient who began outpatient rehab the day after surgery. During this 2-minute clip, I assess:
• The post-surgical dressing and incision site
• Knee swelling and pain levels
• Initial range of motion and mobility

We begin with a gentle pedaling exercise to promote circulation and improve knee flexion, followed by supported knee extension positioning, which becomes a foundational part of the patient’s home exercise program.
