Norand Mono: Are 15 envelopes and 18 LFOs enough for 1 Monosynth?

Описание к видео Norand Mono: Are 15 envelopes and 18 LFOs enough for 1 Monosynth?

We're spoilt for choice in the "2 VCO Monosynth with a Sequencer" category of synths, so it's always exciting when an instrument in that "genre" elevates itself by doing something unique. The Norand Mono (as well as sounding great) stands out from the pack by offering an independent envelope and LFO for every knob on the front panel. This allows for a wide range of sound design, sequencing and performance opportunities, and I'll explore a number of them in this video: complex interactions between different parameters, sequenced envelopes, gnarly "analogue masquerading as digital" sounds and more!

Here are the two videos I mentioned in the intro:
Loopop's demo:    • NORAND MONO Review // Why it's a brea...
Jeremy's performance:    • Banging On the Norand Mono Just For You

00:00 - Intro
02:50 - Overview of the architecture
09:12 - X-Env: an envelope per knob
11:19 - Decoupling Amp and Filter
14:09 - A 2-op Analog FM Synth
16:11 - Unlink X-Env - triggering envelopes independently
20:25 - X-Mod: an LFO (and more) per knob
24:36 - Tempo-sync'd X-Mod
27:12 - Audio-rate modulation of all the things
32:18 - X-Env to X-Mod amount - analog does digital
38:49 - Outro
