Hall of the Mountain King Violin Solo Variations

Описание к видео Hall of the Mountain King Violin Solo Variations

My 2020 Halloween video after doing Danse Macabre last year. This is a semi-improv solo violin version of the song that takes the theme and creates a few variations, incoporating a variety of advanced violin techniques including double stops, ricochet and fast & high notes.

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" (Norwegian: I Dovregubbens hall, lit. 'In the Dovre man's hall') is an orchestral work composed by Edvard Grieg in 1875 as incidental music for the sixth scene of act 2 in Henrik Ibsen's 1867 play Peer Gynt. It was later included as the final piece of Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1.

Its theme is widely recognized and has been used numerous times in pop culture and covered by many bands. Famous covers include The Who, Savatage, Kamelot, Marillion, Epica and K-Pop Band SF9. Some of the most notable examples of appearances in films and video games are Mad Men (Season 2/Episode 12), Trollhunters (fight scenes with Zelda Nomura), Needful Things, The Birth of a Nation, Hunt the Wumpus, Little Einsteins and The Smurfs.
