BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Our show last week with New York Times photographer Doug Mills was a huge success! The behind the scenes virtual tour of the White House Briefing room was fascinating. If you haven’t seen that show you need to check it out.

One thing we learned on that show is that due to the social distancing measures that are in place at the White House, photographers are now assigned positions in the briefing room and are unable to move around to various positions. As such, photographers like Doug who have to cover the daily briefings must rely on remote cameras to provide a variety of angles to their publications. Doug is utilizing at least three remote cameras during each briefing in addition to the camera he is holding in his hands.

We had SO MANY questions about Doug’s remote camera setup that he has very generously agreed to come back on the program again to demonstrate exactly how he configures, sets up and fires his remote cameras.

There will be more of that live, walking around behind the scenes footage from inside the briefing room, as well as a detailed how-to on configuring and firing remote cameras. Doug will also demonstrate how he transfers his images in near-real time to the New York Times picture desk within seconds of capture directly from his camera while the briefing is still going on.
