Panasonic NV M1 VHS camcorder test footage

Описание к видео Panasonic NV M1 VHS camcorder test footage

This is some test footage taken with a Panasonic NV-M1 Newvicon tube VHS camcorder. I have a had a number of these Panasonic Newvicon VHS camcorders (M1 and M3) and a lot of them seem to have problems with the colour, mainly with registration of blue and red where in daylight conditions blue appears as purple and under artificial lighting red appears purple. Out of all of them, this is the one that seems to work the best. Although the colour is not spot on accurate, it still looks good and it is far better than any of the other ones I have used.

The camera does have one fault though in that the iris control is broken, it is stuck in the auto position. This is not a massive problem, it only really becomes problematic when trying to shoot something which is lit from behind.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the video produced by this camera and the convenience of having the camera and recorder in one unit will mean I will probably use it quite a bit.

On a side note, you see in the video that I point the camera at the sun. DO NOT POINT TUBE CAMERAS AT THE SUN. I knew this one could handle it but most can't and you will end up with a burn mark on the tube which probably won't go away.
