He started in radio shows in his native country. He then reached an international audience with hilarious slapstick detective comedies, the Pink Panther film series. The world loved him and he soaked up the fame. The unfortunate part was that, like many tortured souls, he was using comedy to hide the pain in his heart. When it came out, it interfered with all of his relationships.

His relationship with socialite Miranda Macmillan was relatively uneventful. His last, with Lynne Frederick, affected his family forever. He tried to change his will so that she wouldn’t get the lion’s share of his fortune but was unable. He barely spoke to his children until the end of his life.
Peter wasn’t an evil or violent man. He just never knew how to make himself happy the way he did others. His torrid affair with one special woman could have worked out if they didn’t have to keep it a secret for so long.
