In this math video we will learn two ways to simplify a radical expression. We will first understand that an exponent of 2 means to multiply the base by itself. We will learn to multiply radicals with the same index, you multiply the radicands and keep the radical and index the same. We will simplify a perfect square root. The second way we will simplify the radical expression is by rewriting the radical using exponents. We will understand that square root is the same as an exponent of one half. We will use the power of a power property to multiply the powers. We will identify the correct solution. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained two ways.
