From Cairns to the QLD/NT Boarder we joined the Savannah Way, travelling through Atherton, Innot Hot Springs, Georgetown, Normanton, Burketown and finally arriving 3 days later in Camooweal. Crossing the great dividing range the Australian landscape and climate change dramatically. The temperature is hotter but far less humid and actually drops at night! The landscape is vast, empty and flat plain. We hoped to continue on the Savannah Way through Hells Roadhouse but unfortunately the road ahead was still closed due to recent cyclone.
