Did you know that you can felt Hue + Me yarn ends together? 🧶 This is a neat technique when you need to add a new ball of yarn. You don’t need to tie any knots or weave in any extra ends. I used this trick for my #cozydaysdaisyblanket , and I wanted to show you how I do it!

Tools needed: Clover Felting Tool, high density foam (or a felting mat)

Instructions:
• Carefully untwist the yarn ends and cut to half thickness.
• Place the yarn ends on top of each other and twist them together.
• Take your felting needle and repeatedly jab at the twisted yarn ends.
• This agitation causes the scales of the animal fibres to interlock together.
• Gently lift up the yarn, roll between the palms of your hands to smooth it out, and then jab again.
• Continue this process until the ends are fused together and smooth with no strands sticking out.

This felting technique can only be used if the yarn has some animal fibre component to it (wool or alpaca), and it is strong! I have not had any felted strands come apart for any of my projects, and I’ve been using this technique for the past 6 years 😊

You can also use this felting technique to lock a yarn end in place after you’ve finished weaving it in so it won’t pop out!
