In this video we talk about how one of the highest rated car manufactures in the United States for safety is actually the manufacturer with the highest fatality rate? In a recent study conducted by iSeeCars reveals that while Teslas by all safety metrics should be the safest cars to be in on the road, with all the sensors and safety equipment, it has the highest rate of fatalities on the road with 5.6 fatalities per billion vehicle miles between 2017-2022. My thought is that the drivers of Teslas are reliant on the sensors and the car's ability to drive itself and are paying less attention to what is happening on the road/ around them. Another thought is that these Tesla's are very powerful vehicles and many of the people who get them are not used to having such powerful vehicles which can accelerate very fast. There are many reports of people accidentally pressing on the accelerator instead of the brakes and crashing. Does this statistic make you less likely to get a Tesla?
