Play has always proved to be a coping mechanism for children in times of a crisis. As the covid pandemic extended from days, to week and now months, access to play was terribly limited and left children with little options to explore, learn and thrive within the four walls of their homes. Almost no conversation around the subject meant that children too didn’t voice their thoughts and feelings around a topic so intrinsic to their growing up days. Our teams reached out to children living in our shelter homes, and in communities we work with to understand ‘what children think’ on play in lockdown.
