1- Deputy chairman of the Exposition committee, minister Aleixo Sequeira has informed that around 75 lakh pilgrims have visited the Se Cathedral to view and venerate the relics of St Francis Xavier.
Speaking to Prudent, Sequeira stated that they expect the numbers to cross 80 lakhs by 4 January 2025.
He also went on to say that 4th Jan will be the last day to venerate the relics of St Francis Xavier. “On the 5th the relics will be taken back to the Basilica,” he added




2- BJP Goa President Sadanand Shet Tanavade has informed that the BJP Core Committee has discussed various issues.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Tanavade said “ 36 mandal presidents to be declared by 7th January; new BJP state president will be elected by January end, 6 names sent to centre,”
He also said that the core committee discussed about Zilla Panchayat elections.



3- The opposition has strongly criticised the state government for scheduling a two-day winter session of the Legislative Assembly in February, calling it a “mockery of democracy” and an attempt to suppress democratic voices.

5- GVK EMRI 108 emergency services handled 172 trauma cases on 31st December and 1st January 2025.
108  emergency services handled 72 trauma cases on 31st December and 100 cases on 1st January. GVK also handled around 73,000 cases in 2024 and around 80,000 cases in 2024.


6- A report released by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education states that only 8% of governmrnt schools in Goa have smart classrooms.
There are 238 schools in Goa with a single teacher teaching all the classes, as per the data of the Union education ministry’s U-DISE (Unified District Information System for Education) report for 2023-24.
37 % of the pre-primary teachers do not have required degree.
The report also a;lso said that hardly 20 % of the government schools is Goa have functional computer facility fr pedagogical purpose.
