As you become a more advanced English speaker, understanding the nuance of language, the subtle differences of the words you choose will help you be a better, more powerful speaker.

And with 3 small changes, you can learn to easily switch between soft vs. assertive language in English.

After reading an article in the magazine Fast Company, a student asked me if he should stop using the words might, pretty, and I think.

The article argued that these words diminish one’s voice or the meaning of words.

The truth is, there are times when soft, more diplomatic language is appropriate and others when assertive language is the better choice.

Use these 3 simple changes you can make the words choices you want to best express yourself in English.
