1987 Chevy S10 Dash Removal and Reinstall

Описание к видео 1987 Chevy S10 Dash Removal and Reinstall

Here is a bunch of video put together on my S10. I had to remove the Dash to replace the 30 year old firewall padding. I also wanted to fix the floor to norm vent problem. I fixed that with a cotter pin and 2 nuts that screwed right on the door vent vacuum.

The video is long but there are good points in it to help other people that need to do similar services on the truck.

This took a long time to get motivated to do since putting the steering column mounting brackets and other parts back on was difficult. Once I got going on it everything came back together relatively easily.

I went to U Pull and Pay many times and shot video in there on how to remove the dash or parts I forgot to reinstall. The transmission speedo sensor was one of them. The 2 metal brackets that secure the clutch from going side to side was the other major one.

This was my very first car and I also learned how to drive a stick in the truck and my grandfather taught me. So it is a special truck and I can never get rid of it.

Another note on comments from children. A user wrote the following: "The icm and the computer ARE definitely not the same thing educate urself b4 trying to help others"

At around 9:19 I say something like. Oh that is the ICM "oops "the ECU. I corrected myself right away. The ECU = Computer or there are many other abbreviations to call the computer. The ICM is the ignition control module. On the s10 it is attached to the distributor under the cap I believe. Been a while since I tore that apart.

Anyway as I mentioned earlier in the video and in the description I don't need some kid who can't complete a sentence correctly that I need to tell the difference between an ICM and an ECU! This is something only children do. The bad part is that anybody can create a gmail account and comment anything they want on any video. I had to put my s10 back together and I ran into an issue not putting the sensor that goes in the back of the cluster in. I left it out. Truck still worked but since that sensor wasn't hooked up it would throw out a code. Anyway that kid is an idiot. That is all.

Hope you all enjoy it and find it helpful.

Thanks for the Subs!!
