Since its Mobile release, the Type 63 has reigned as the new king of semi-auto marksman rifles. Back in Black Ops Cold War, it was designated as a "tactical rifle" along with the other semi-autos and burst rifles in that game. In real life, the Type 63 is a Chinese assault rifle that combined aspects of their AK-47 (used as SMGs) and SKS rifles. This was an attempt at national self-reliance after the Sino-Soviet Split. However, quality control was poor and it underperformed in a 1979 border with Vietnam. It would another decade or so for China to catch up and adopt a new standard issue rifle that was chambered in a smaller, high-velocity, intermediate cartridge.
