【Pls look at the top comment first】This song is for every 1980s dreamer, taken from an epic album by a memorable band. Today whoever still listens to their albums must have the best taste in hard/melodic rock appreciation. Among 1980s Philadelphia-based hard rock bands, Tangier should never be forgotten.

Tangier was active between 1984 and 1992 with three studio albums. Among all the three albums, the debut is the most underrated, but it lit up the beginning of Tangier's rock n roll career.

Tangier was formed in 1984 by songwriter and guitarist Doug Gordon, and grew up in the clubs with bands such as Cinderella, who helped the group by having Tangier open for them on their second major tour. In 1985, Tangier's ST debut was released, winning minor local success. This album is rarely mentioned and the band's following two albums are more well-known among fans.

As an independent album, Tangier's debut is well created and produced. The label Wolfe Records is less-known, which also released the 1980s albums for Funhouse and Ivory Tower. Among all the three albums by Tangier, the 1985 debut is a distinctive one, because this 1980s hard rock/hair metal icon Tangier started as a melodic hard rock band with several aor songs that can be heard from this debut.

Tangier was formed as a five-piece band with duo guitars. In the video, this memorable line-up only appeared in the debut. The debut can carry a pleasant moment for both hard rock and aor fans. A lovely melodic rock journey is opened with all these tuneful songs. Though there is no major single and this line-up was short-lived, Tangier's debut is always a treasure, worth reviewing all the time.

This opening track "Paradise" carries a fantastic vibe and rock passion. As an addictive melodic hard rock gem, the songs can make whoever listens to this simply amazing album fall in love with the band. "Get Away", "Look What You've Done", "Call Me Up", "In City" and the theme song "Tangier" all blow souls away. "Bijou Starlite", "One More Time" and "Lately I Don't Know" carry flaming moments, triggering every heart to keep rocking.

After the debut, Doug Gordon reformed Tangier with a new line-up. The second album "Four Winds" was released in 1989, still featuring Bill Mattson on lead vocals. Musically, the following album carries a different taste from the debut with a harder taste of 1980s hair metal. Being signed by ATCO Records, Tangier did lots of jobs for album promotion and a series of singles were released separately. In "Four Winds", the powerful singing by Bill Mattson hit more potential fans who became huge fans of the band. "On The Line" and "Southbound Train" with the promo videos left deep impressions on numerous hair metal fans.

Tangier's third album "Stranded" was released in 1991. There was a line-up change again. This time a new member Mike LeCompte replaced Bill Mattson on lead vocals. The theme song "Stranded" is also one of the representative works by Tangier with a promo video. "Stranded" is the last album of Tangier. In the grunge booming year, Tangier brought their final treasures to light up the final hair metal explosion era. Their songs from the three albums are immortal. Review the glorious years when Tangier was active and always remember that they are as great as Cinderella and Heaven's Edge, the never-fading hard rock icons from Philadelphia.
