A series of red flags emerged as I negotiated a brand deal with a person reporting to be representing a major alcohol, wine and spirits company this week. Fortunately, I caught it before surrendering much personal information, but #influencers and #creators need to know this is a potential fraudulent scheme aimed at you!

A person calling themselves Johanna Gregory reached out and offered me a brand collaboration with Constellation Brands this week. Everything made sense -- I do food and beverage content on my Instagram account which has been growing lately. It was a small brand collaboration but flattering.

Then the red flags started to emerge. Gregory was contacting me from a Gmail account, not a business one. I couldn't find the company website. The proposal was a little too amateurish.

And then it got weird!
