Batara Gowa proudly present LINO

Lino literally means the world or the universe. Lino describes the perspective of the people of Makassar and Bugis (ethnics who inhabit Makassar City) on cosmological concepts that are embedded and well preserved in the form of a philosophical understanding of Sulapa Appa' (rectangular) which each side represents the four elements, namely Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. It is from this perspective that the minds of the Makassarese and Bugis people actually view the universe (Kosmos) as consisting of four basic elements that are strung together as a system or entity that is very complicated but very organized. This work also perform the uniqueness in gender perspective in Makassar and Bugis Indigenous People.
