Exploring Kathmandu - Walking from Durbar Square to Thamel | Van Life Nepal | The Hippie Trail #59

After a few weeks in Nepal, it is finally time to explore Durbar Square and Thamel, the beating heart of Kathmandu.
Durbar Square is perhaps the most atmospheric square we visited on our hippie trail. It is literally impossible to get bored here, there is always something to see or do that will grab your attention!
The short walk from Durbar Square to Thamel is also an experience that will end up high in our imaginary top ten.

Once you arrive in Thamel, the contrast couldn't be greater: restaurants, cafes, shops selling all sorts of knick-knacks aimed at tourists. But make no mistake, Thamel has an atmosphere that never fails to draw us back!
