Three favorite News from Lake Wobegon stories by Garrison Keillor.

On Garrison's weekly radio show called A Prairie Home Companion, he would perform a segment titled News from Lake Wobegon which was about Keillor's fictitious hometown in Minnesota. Most were good but some were transcendent. These stories make you laugh and break your heart. Mr. Keillor has a true gift of storytelling.
Here are three of my favorites; Rhubarb, Hog Slaughter within which is a story about June, and finally The Royal Family which isn't about actual royalty but rather about hope.
If you enjoy these, pick up the audiobook Mother, Father, Uncle, Aunt by Garrison Keillor. The final story The Tombstone is also a favorite.
