Start by learning python and the math and statistics behind the ML algorithms. Focus on a handful of algorithms and understand the essence of what you are trying to achieve and gain experience in tackling the common problems people face as ML and AI engineers or scientists. I give a month by month breakdown on what you need to learn so you can get started without much stress.
