In a game full of rather violent knockout tames, it's nice to tame Deinotherium. Why? Because the taming method is as simple as: grabbing a beer with the bois.

Okay, it's a bit more complicated than that. But, the idea is simple enough. Make beer, carry it around on your hotbar (last slot), and encounter one of these massive early relatives of the elephant. Much like its modern counterpart, these are not gentle giants, and don't like intruders in their space.

They are also very intelligent, and will display their mood with their ears, trunks, and heads. They have a passion for good beer, so if they are in the mood, you may approach and they'll take it from you. Rinse and repeat until the Deinotherium trusts you enough and it'll start following you around.

This taming method has issues, but I love it because it's about gaining the trust of this animal, rather than enforcing my will over it. And for your patience, you'll be rewarded with a VERY powerful support/tank creature.

While it doesn't have the raw damage of something like the Rex or Acro, it has some powerful buff abilities and the HP to hold its own in a fight. It will simply outlast most of its foes, as it does enough damage to deal with most threats, especially after a buff from its pack mates.

When all its buffs are in place, it becomes a beast - doing more damage and taking less, which when coupled with its good attack speed and high health, make it a menace to even the most vicious of corrupted creatures here on the dying Earth.
