The Vios, together with its larger MPV and SUV siblings, is the subcompact car of Toyota Motor Philippines' (TMP) most cherished and best-selling brand.

The exterior and interior designs of the updated Vios are completely new. The front is adorned with a broad trapezoidal grille, teardrop-shaped fog lamp vents, and long squinting headlights. The taillights have been extended and now wrap around the back panel of the vehicle. TMP expanded their inventory with new Prime variations that come with spoiler, skirts, and a redesigned bumper right out of the showroom. Conversely, the inside had a significant overhaul as well. The dashboard has a more cohesive appearance that makes it flow more naturally into the door panels, and the interior has a redesigned steering wheel that is similar of the Toyota Yaris'.

There are two different engine options available for the Toyota Vios: a 1.5-liter with outputs of 105 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque, and a 1.3-liter gasoline engine that generates 98 horsepower and 123 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual or a continuously variable gearbox (CVT) can be used with any of the two engine options. More interior room is made possible by the transverse engine placement seen in front-engine, front-wheel-drive systems.

The updated Vios remain on the same platform. Suspension configuration is still torsion beam in back and McPherson strut in front. For improved handling and comfort, the Toyota Vios has coil springs and gas shock absorbers. The Vios's chassis is built using a unibody construction, which means the car's structure is made of only one piece. Thus, additional chassis stiffness is possible without compromising lightweight.

With the latest software update for the G version, Toyota has included new driving modes. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine's potential is enhanced by the inclusion of the ECO and Sport driving modes. The 1.5-liter gasoline engine that powers the Toyota Vios GR-S generates equal numbers to the G model, but it also comes with a 10-speed CVT that sets it apart from the rest of the lineup.

The most recent update for the Toyota Vios brings standard LED headlights for the G variation and LED foglights for the G, E, and XLE variants, as was previously reported. Not to mention, the G CVT variant's Eco and Sport settings, along with paddle shifters, are excellent additions. Even while the Toyota Vios does not currently have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, it does have the T-Link technology, which lets users mirror their smartphone.

In terms of wheels, the E trim has 15-inch wheels, while the G models feature 16-inch alloys. The Base trim only comes with 14-inch steel rims, whereas the XE, XLE, and J feature 14-inch steelies with complete caps. The Japanese automaker has updated the Toyota Vios, giving the G variation new 16-inch wheels while the other trim levels continue to use the previous facelifted model's older styling.

The abundance of safety measures available on the Vios is among its greatest features. Seven airbags, ABS with EBD and braking help, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child seat tethers, five 3-point seatbelts, and child lock protection are all included in the range. Additionally, Toyota included three airbags as standard equipment across the lineup; seven airbags are an option for added security.

On the other hand, the Toyota Vios GR-S receives a few special touches that enhance the exterior's sportiness.
